Data Bloom 2025: Build Your Personal Website with Quarto

<p dir="ltr">Quarto, also known as the ‘new R Markdown’, is an open-source scientific and technical publishing system that can be used to create dynamic and static documents, books, presentations, blogs, and other online resources. In this workshop, learn how to create a personal website to showcase your skills and works.</p><p dir="ltr">Prerequisites:</p><ul><li>Install the latest version of RStudio Desktop on your computer (from July 2022, Quarto is included with RStudio)</li><li><ul><li><a href="https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download</a></li><li>For installing R <a href="https://cloud.r-project.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">https://cloud.r-project.org/</a></li></ul></li><li>Install the latest version of Quarto</li><li><ul><li><a href="https://quarto.org/docs/download/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">https://quarto.org/docs/download/</a></li></ul></li><li>Create a GitHub account if you don’t already have one from <a href="https://github.com/signup" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://github.com/signup</a>. You will need to verify your email which may take a few minutes.</li><li>For Windows users, install Git using the instructions <a href="https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/getting-started-with-git/set-up-git" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/getting-started-with-git/set-up-git</a>. Mac and other OS typically have Git pre-installed. You can verify this by typing <i>git --version</i> in a terminal. It will return a version number.</li></ul><p></p>
